"Akhyari Hananto or called Arry, born and raised in Yogyakarta, started his career in banking as a Risk Management Officer at a national bank in Jakarta, and continued at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) based in Manila as a Technological Application Developer for Southeast Asia.
He gave up his banking career to join an NGO based in London, England after his hometown was hit by the 2006 earthquake. Briefly served as Director of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance for Asia Pacific countries, and became country coordinator in Indonesia, Cambodia, and Thailand, before finally returning to Indonesia.
He had served as an Economic Advisor at the United States Consulate General in Surabaya, before finally deciding to develop a social movement called GNFI, Good News from Indonesia.
From GNFI, Arry was named the most influential netizen in Indonesia by The Marketeers magazine in 2012, and received the Indonesian Communication Award (AKI) from the Indonesian Government in 2015.
He has written 9 books in Indonesian and English and was trusted to make a special book for the 50th anniversary of the Asia-Africa Conference in Bandung 2015.
Right now, Arry is actively sharing experiences on various campuses and communities in Indonesia and several overseas, regarding the digital world, economics, diplomacy, technology, history, and geopolitics."
