
Nila Moeloek
Minister of Health
Born in Jakarta, on 11 April 1949, she finished her bachelor’s degree and graduated from the medical faculty of the University of Indonesia. She proceeded to specialize in ophthalmology, attending programmes at International Fellowship di Orbita Centre, University of Amsterdam, and in Kobe University, Japan. She then became a doctor in the Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital, also becoming the head of the Dharma Women’s fellowship (Dharma Wanita Persatuan) between 2004 -2009. She became the President’s special dispatch for the Millenium Development Goals during SBY’s term, and is currently serving as the 20th Health Minister in Indonesia, working closely with President Joko Widodo and the other ministers in the “Kabinet Kerja”.
